It sounds like Russell Brand is on quite a journey to find truth... actually, to find the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  He seems, to me, to be on the cusp of true believing faith.  He's at least on the right track, headed in the right direction.  Say a prayer for him.

Feminism Nonsense (repost)

(Oh, how we love nonsense in our country!) We women are fighting so hard to be like men, to downplay femininity, to be perceived as more masculine, to overtake any "men's realm" we find.   Because it’s “cool” and “progressive” and “strong.” But do we not realize that we are not “leveling the playing field” so much as we are destroying ourselves , the things that make women special? Women can be strong, too.   And they don’t have to be like men to do it.   Trust me, I know.  I've had four children, one by c-section and three by natural, drug-free homebirth (with over 15 hours of labor for each one).  And then I work in the home every day, all day long.  No pay.  No vacation time.  No weekends off.  No bonuses.  No overtime pay. It’s amazing and disturbing how brazen our society is in attacking everything about God and everything He created:  marriage, monogamy, sex, family, sexuality, the scientific reality of gender, morality, modesty, the value of a person, the right to life, the existence of "right and wrong," the Bible, Jesus, and Absolute Truth.  Not to mention God Himself, His very existence. We are destroying everything associated with Him (except nature – we worship that), and then we call ourselves "progressive." Be Wary Of The Christian Post

(Written 6/15/18)  Occasionally, I check in with the Christian Post to see what's going on in the world that specifically relates to Christians.  And generally, I've never really had any red flags go up about this website ... until now. A recent article by Stoyan Zaimov, with a title that starts "Christian Lesbian rock star ..." goes on to share this woman's story about being assaulted by a male priest when she was young.   However, I don't think the reason for this article is to talk about the abuse she suffered and her courage in speaking up.  I think this is a deliberate attempt to affirm Christian homosexuality.  The very fact that they put "Christian" and "lesbian" in the title makes it sound like it's indeed possible to be a Christian and a practicing homosexual who sees no need to change. War Rooms, Praying Scripture, and Spiritual Warfare (repost)

I strongly believe that there are angels and demons.  That prayer matters.  That there is a spiritual battle going on around us all the time ... and that we need to get involved in it, actively and consciously.  (Something I haven't been doing lately.)   Regardless of if we want it or not, we are constantly facing spiritual battles.  But if we don't acknowledge it - if we stick our heads in the sand, refuse to get involved, fail to put on our spiritual armor or to use the spiritual weapons available to us - we open ourselves up to deceptions, to defeat, to being very vulnerable to the strategies and attacks of the evil one.  You can't win a battle you don't even know you're in.  You can't defeat an enemy you pretend isn't there. I think I stumbled upon the perfect "If They Mated ..." scenario for who I look like and how I act.  (You know, when they take two people and morph their faces into one to show what their offspring would look like if they mated.)  I wasn't trying to figure this out or anything; it just came to me as I was watching The Hobbit recently.  And once I saw it in my mind, I couldn't unsee it.  Then after I thought about possibly sharing it with all of you, my mind won't let it go until I do.  And so here it is, much to my chagrin... If someone protests the police ...

Regarding this up-and-coming generation's fascination with protesting the police, my suggesting is ... If someone is going to protest the police, then they should NOT be allowed to call on the police for help if ever they find themselves the victim of a crime! If you protest the police and then someone breaks into your home, don't call the cops for help.  If someone mugs you in an alley, deal with it yourself.  If someone crashes into your car while you're driving, you're on your own. If you are going to trash those who are trying to help us, then you shouldn't be allowed to call on them for help. You know what really gets me? Do people not realize that the more they protest the police and lash out against the police and vilify the police, the less people there are who will want to become police?  And the less police there are, the more criminal activity there will be.  Because there will be less police to fight it and because these protesters are...

The Last Goodbye by Billy Boyd

My 13-year-old son and I have been getting into Lord of the Rings lately.   [In fact, he's basically obsessed with it.  We bought almost all the books written for this series.  He watches all the behind-the-scenes footage of the movies.  He's researched New Zealand.  He reads books on medieval weapons and armor.  And it's inspired him to create lots of medieval things.  He spends time everyday making medieval helmets and weapons out of foam and PVC pipe.  He's made working bows out of branches and thick cotton string, with arrows made out of dowel rods and bird feathers.  (And they shoot over 50 feet or so.  Impressive!)  Don't worry ... he only shoots at a hay bale or a cardboard target, never at animals or people!  For the "foam battles" with his friends, he has bows made out of PVC pipe, and the arrows have foam balls instead of pointy tips, so no one gets hurt.   They all have such a blast!  It's great to wa...
