Tony Evans is my all-time favorite pastor.  He always gives messages that convict, challenge, and comfort.  Here are some sermons that I have listened to or am going to listen to.  For more, simply go to his website by clicking here.  There are so many great ones to choose from.

You can't go wrong with any video of his.  I found him to be the most biblically-accurate preacher (especially as I researched Calvinism and found out how wrong it is), who is also great at helping us practically apply God's truths to life.

If They Mated ...

I think I stumbled upon the perfect "If They Mated ..." scenario for who I look like and how I act.  (You know, when they take two people and morph their faces into one to show what their offspring would look like if they mated.)  I wasn't trying to figure this out or anything; it just came to me as I was watching The Hobbit recently.  And once I saw it in my mind, I couldn't unsee it.  Then after I thought about possibly sharing it with all of you, my mind won't let it go until I do.  And so here it is, much to my chagrin...   [In this series, I'm breaking the long post   "Why is Calvinism so dangerous?"   into bite-sized pieces.] 12.  (We're getting closer to the end.  It's gonna go faster now.) Calvinism says ...  "Predestination/election/chosen" verses are always about God predestining people for salvation. What Does The Bible Say About Homosexuality?

So Christian musician Lauren Daigle says she doesn't know either way what the Bible says about homosexuality, whether it's right or wrong.  She says that if anyone finds out, let her know.   Okay, so there's several possibilities about what's happening here.  Among them are: 1.   She has never really read her Bible.  (Or she doesn't want to know what it says, so she isn't studying it very closely.) 2.   She is afraid to say what she really thinks because she knows it would destroy her career.  Maybe it's about her desire to be popular.  Maybe it's about money.  Maybe it's about fear of losing potential listeners that she wants to reach through her music. 3.   She doesn't want to say the truth because she knows it will hurt people (particularly her homosexual friends) and turn people off, and she feels bad about offending anyone.  Maybe she is trying to protect people from the sting of Truth, of out genuine (misguided) conce...

"My Corona Blend": An Essential Oil Blend for Diffusers

(Great, now I'll be singing "My Sharona" all day!) This is an essential oil blend I made to put in our diffusers at night while we are facing this coronavirus pandemic.  I picked oils that are known for their powerful anti-viral properties, that are good against colds/flu/fever/infectious diseases, that are good for lung/respiratory health, and that help stimulate the immune system.  (I call it "My Corona Blend" for my own reference, but I make no promises about its ability to defeat the Coronavirus.) The smell of oregano and thyme really come through in this.  It smells a bit strong, but pleasant, like a lemon thyme herb plant.  If you want a less oregano/thyme smell, add about half of both of those oils. Religion is not the same thing as Christianity

Sorry, Chelsea , but being "deeply religious" is not the same thing as being "Christian." In fact, I think religion is the greatest enemy to Christianity.  Because it appears so similar to it in some ways that no one realizes just how far from the truth it is.  It makes you feel like you have enough of God to get to heaven, but not too much that it infringes on your life. Religion is about working your way to heaven, about following "the rules," earning your way, trying to be good enough that God lets you in.  It's about believing you have a right to eternal life because of what you do or think.   Religion is the enemy of grace!   But Christianity is about God making the way for us to get to heaven when we couldn't do it ourselves.  It's about Him reaching down to pull us up, instead of us trying to work our way to Him.  It's about Him giving us a gift we could never earn - undeserved grace, forgiveness, love, salvation.   Relig...
