No Excuses!

People often say things like "If God is real, then why doesn't He show us?"

Well, He did ... it's called Creation.

"No, no, that's just evolution. It's nature," they reply.  "But if He was really real, then why doesn't He send us a clear message, in black and white?"

He did ... it's called the Bible.


"Oh, that was just written by men.  It's an interesting old book.  Nothing more.  But if He was really, really real, then why doesn't He come down here and show Himself to us physically?  Because then we'd believe."

Once again, He did ... and His name is Jesus.  And they still don't believe.


"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse."  (Romans 1:20)

"But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name."  (John 20:31)

This is the last half of the post "What's The Best Way To Make People Agree With Your Calvinist Views."   But I put it here in its own post so that it's easier to find. Be Wary Of The Christian Post

(Written 6/15/18)  Occasionally, I check in with the Christian Post to see what's going on in the world that specifically relates to Christians.  And generally, I've never really had any red flags go up about this website ... until now. A recent article by Stoyan Zaimov, with a title that starts "Christian Lesbian rock star ..." goes on to share this woman's story about being assaulted by a male priest when she was young.   However, I don't think the reason for this article is to talk about the abuse she suffered and her courage in speaking up.  I think this is a deliberate attempt to affirm Christian homosexuality.  The very fact that they put "Christian" and "lesbian" in the title makes it sound like it's indeed possible to be a Christian and a practicing homosexual who sees no need to change. (Oh, how we love nonsense in our country!) We women are fighting so hard to be like men, to downplay femininity, to be perceived as more masculine, to overtake any "men's realm" we find.   Because it’s “cool” and “progressive” and “strong.” But do we not realize that we are not “leveling the playing field” so much as we are destroying ourselves , the things that make women special? Women can be strong, too.   And they don’t have to be like men to do it.   Trust me, I know.  I've had four children, one by c-section and three by natural, drug-free homebirth (with over 15 hours of labor for each one).  And then I work in the home every day, all day long.  No pay.  No vacation time.  No weekends off.  No bonuses.  No overtime pay. (picking up where we left off in part 1 ...) And that brings us to this year.   This year I wasn't going to make any New Year's resolutions.  I was like "meh, who cares?" But then, two things grew naturally in my mind, goals for this year.  (The first one will take three posts, and then I'll share the second one after that.) Will Revival Lead to the Rapture?

In this article , Greg Laurie speculates that the revivals we are seeing in America may be leading up to the rapture, when Jesus comes back again to take His people out before the tribulation.  He says that many millions of Americans disappearing would explain why America is not described in the Bible in the end times.   I pray this is so! I myself wondered this just the other day when I was thinking about the revivals going on recently.  I was thinking how amazing it is to see thousands of people come to Christ in the past months, especially in a culture that's becoming increasingly hostile to Christians.   And then, I was wondering if this is God's "last call" before Jesus comes back again.   Our country - our world - is so polarized right now.  Everyone's taking sides, even churches.  They either choose to reject God's Truth and God's ways, or to accept them.  To make God into who they want Him to be, or to worship Him for who He is. ...

A Warning about Prophetic Messages and Speaking in Tongues

There are a couple videos I recently linked to of someone sharing the spiritual warfare they've gone through.  It was good advice and on-track biblically.  But since then, she's done videos more along the lines of "prophetic messages," sharing dreams she's had and what she thinks God is saying through them to the people watching her videos, including the prophecy that God is going to bring someone an unexpected business opportunity.  This makes me leery, and it makes me want to share a quick warning about those kinds of "prophetic" messages.   I don't want to quench the Spirit or limit His work, or anything like that.  And I don't know exactly what this specific woman is experiencing (so I'm not writing this specifically about her, but about things like this).  And I don't know exactly how the Spirit works nowadays through spiritual "gifts."  So this is just my opinion, a word of caution.  (There's a note about the "gif...
