"Walking in God's Plan"

I just found this sermon by Charles Stanley, Walking in God's Plan.  It's a good look at the different types of "wills" God has, of the things we are responsible for and the things God is responsible for.  

Such as God has a "predetermined Will" - events that God has predetermined that we cannot change, such as His plan to send Jesus to the cross.  

But then there are things that God desires - His "desired Will" for our lives - such as His desire that all men to be saved, His desire that we obey and trust Him, etc.  And we have a choice about following God in those kinds of things or not.  God has given us the right and responsibility to make certain decisions in our lives, about certain things He desires for us.  And our choices will have a real effect on whatever happens, on whether God's desired Will for our lives happens or not!  

This is a good balance between God's sovereignty and our free-will, our responsibility to make choices.

This is the last half of the post "What's The Best Way To Make People Agree With Your Calvinist Views."   But I put it here in its own post so that it's easier to find. Feminism Nonsense (repost)

(Oh, how we love nonsense in our country!) We women are fighting so hard to be like men, to downplay femininity, to be perceived as more masculine, to overtake any "men's realm" we find.   Because it’s “cool” and “progressive” and “strong.” But do we not realize that we are not “leveling the playing field” so much as we are destroying ourselves , the things that make women special? Women can be strong, too.   And they don’t have to be like men to do it.   Trust me, I know.  I've had four children, one by c-section and three by natural, drug-free homebirth (with over 15 hours of labor for each one).  And then I work in the home every day, all day long.  No pay.  No vacation time.  No weekends off.  No bonuses.  No overtime pay. Be Wary Of The Christian Post

(Written 6/15/18)  Occasionally, I check in with the Christian Post to see what's going on in the world that specifically relates to Christians.  And generally, I've never really had any red flags go up about this website ... until now. A recent article by Stoyan Zaimov, with a title that starts "Christian Lesbian rock star ..." goes on to share this woman's story about being assaulted by a male priest when she was young.   However, I don't think the reason for this article is to talk about the abuse she suffered and her courage in speaking up.  I think this is a deliberate attempt to affirm Christian homosexuality.  The very fact that they put "Christian" and "lesbian" in the title makes it sound like it's indeed possible to be a Christian and a practicing homosexual who sees no need to change. I'm just gonna come out and say it ...  If Calvinism is true, then God is a liar. Here are a few of their teachings in a nutshell (without the sugarcoating or deceptive layers Calvinists wrap them in)  ... [I originally posted this on one of my other blogs , Oct. 2021] So   according to this article , it appears that scientists have found evidence of the type of biblical destruction that happened to Sodom.  They say they found a town that was destroyed by a blast of heat so hot that it pretty much melted everything.  They say that there's no earthly natural heat source that could do this, so they speculate that it must have been an asteroid that exploded over the town, melting everything.  Oh, and they speculate that the reason no one lived there afterward was that the asteroid impact might have brought over so much salt from the nearby Dead Sea that nothing could grow.  This, they say, must be what inspired people to make up the story of Sodom in the Bible.
