"Walking in God's Plan"

I just found this sermon by Charles Stanley, Walking in God's Plan.  It's a good look at the different types of "wills" God has, of the things we are responsible for and the things God is responsible for.  

Such as God has a "predetermined Will" - events that God has predetermined that we cannot change, such as His plan to send Jesus to the cross.  

But then there are things that God desires - His "desired Will" for our lives - such as His desire that all men to be saved, His desire that we obey and trust Him, etc.  And we have a choice about following God in those kinds of things or not.  God has given us the right and responsibility to make certain decisions in our lives, about certain things He desires for us.  And our choices will have a real effect on whatever happens, on whether God's desired Will for our lives happens or not!  

This is a good balance between God's sovereignty and our free-will, our responsibility to make choices.

How Would You Spend Your Last Day?

Okay, so today (reposted from 9/23/17) is the beginning of the end of the world, according to a Christian numerologist.  As I went to bed last night, I was thinking, "What if the world really did 'end' tomorrow?  How would we choose to spend our last day?" As I laid in bed by myself last night watching Gilmore Girls for the 832nd time while my husband and kids watched a show together in the other room, I thought about how we all had eaten dinner together earlier (homemade BBQ chicken pizza) and how hubby and I had our "mommy and daddy" time and how we were all just chillin' now with each other, hanging out in our normal low-key way, eating mint chocolate chip ice cream.  And I thought, "This is exactly how I would want to spend my last day.  If the world ended tomorrow or if the rapture really happened and Jesus came back and took my family out of here, I would be happy to end my time on earth like this."  Actually, I can t...

Let's just call it what it is: Wicked!

Wicked and repulsive! What else would you call a Philadelphia ruling that would rather children not get a home than get a faith-filled home through a faith-based agency!?! Wicked and repulsive! And yet the left continues to think it's so tolerant and open-minded and all-inclusive and open-armed! Nonsense!!! This kind of thing shows who they really are.   May God overturn this ruling and turn the hearts of people back to Him, opening their eyes to their need for Him and to the true condition of their hearts and souls.  May they see how far they have fallen and the damage they are causing in our country! If someone says that Jesus never talked about hell or that He never talked about it being an eternal condition, they are not being true to the Bible. Jesus did indeed talk about hell.  And He talked about hell being an eternal place of punishment. "Water Colors" - Painting to Relax

I was talking with a friend recently about ideas of things we can do to relax during these crazy days or during times of depression/anxiety.  Obviously, there's reading and baking and taking walks and gardening.  And drawing or painting have become quite popular.  (And I know lots of people were painting because all of Walmart's little bottles of acrylic paint were sold out for weeks during the lockdown in March.) And I was telling my friend that I always wished I could draw.  Goodness, if I could draw like this guy, in his time-lapsed drawing of Gandalf , that would be freakin' incredible!  (If I could have any piece of art out there, it would be this one.  I love it!)   But alas, even my stick-figures are sad and pathetic, hiding their heads in shame.  I simply cannot picture something in my mind and transfer it to paper.  It just doesn't work that way for me.
