If it's not natural, maybe it's ...

Did you read the Newsweek article that came out a little while ago which says that - according to natural laws - the universe shouldn't actually exist? 

Hmm?  Well, let me think about that.  If the universe shouldn't actually exist according to nature, then maybe its existence is ... dare I say? ... "supernatural."

This article shows one of the biggest, most unscientific problems with scientists.  Notice that it says that one of the biggest puzzles scientists are trying to solve is ... how did matter form after the Big Bang?

They start from the position that there was undoubtedly a "Big Bang," forcing them down a path of fitting all the pieces into the "Big Bang Puzzle."

When, instead, maybe they should start with the question of "Was there really a Big Bang as we assume there must have been?"

A scientist would consider all the possibilities and look at all the evidence and let the evidence guide them to a conclusion.  That is the scientific process.

But when you completely cut off a whole possibility from the start (such as "Could there be a Creator?") and you start your research from a predetermined point (such as "There must have been a Big Bang.  It's the only explanation.") then all the research and results are biased, contorted, misguided, and misleading.

Way to go, scientists!  So great to have such "scientific" people following such a "scientific" process to figure out where things came from and how they work!

(Written 6/15/18)  Occasionally, I check in with the Christian Post to see what's going on in the world that specifically relates to Christians.  And generally, I've never really had any red flags go up about this website ... until now. A recent article by Stoyan Zaimov, with a title that starts "Christian Lesbian rock star ..." goes on to share this woman's story about being assaulted by a male priest when she was young.   However, I don't think the reason for this article is to talk about the abuse she suffered and her courage in speaking up.  I think this is a deliberate attempt to affirm Christian homosexuality.  The very fact that they put "Christian" and "lesbian" in the title makes it sound like it's indeed possible to be a Christian and a practicing homosexual who sees no need to change. My Panic Attack (repost)

It's so sad to hear about all the celebrities who have recently committed suicide (or about anyone who has committed suicide, for that matter).  My heart breaks for them, for the pain they went through, and for the ones who love them, for the pain they are now going through.  It is truly a tragedy. Calvinist Hogwash #4 (hell and justice)

I think that Calvinists who deny double predestination are fooling themselves.  To not choose someone for heaven is to choose them for hell, especially if those are the only two options and if God created them to be exactly who they are for certain reasons (which He didn't, except in Calvinism).   Instead of just admitting that Calvi-god predestines people for hell, Calvinists soften or obscure it as much as possible to make it seem less harsh, less deliberate, than it is: "God passes over people... He just lets them be the sinners they already are... He leaves them to themselves... He doesn't force them to reject Him, He just doesn't give them saving faith..."  (I wonder if they'd try so much to soften it if they thought themselves one of the non-elect.)   It's  really just haggling over terminology because it all amounts to the same thing: I n Calvinism, God predetermined that the non-elect would be who they are and do what they do, and He made sure that

Do babies go to heaven or hell? A critique of Calvinism's answer

[This is an update of my original post   on this topic.  I wanted to shorten it a bit, make it more readable, and add few notes, verses, and links.] (Okay, so, I'm gonna try to contain my anger with Calvinism on this one, but I'm not going to do a good job of it.) Let me start by saying that I believe that babies and mentally-handicapped people are not held accountable for being unable to trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior.  I believe that in their innocent state, God covers them with His saving grace.  As we age, though, we learn about right and wrong and become capable of making conscious decisions, and it is then that we become accountable for our decisions. A neighbor just sent this link to me , a video clip (just a minute long) from a woman sharing how she is just done with everything, how she's on autopilot and just wants Jesus to come back again. I absolutely get everything she said and have felt the same way for several years now. Can anyone else relate? #5: Spiritual Loneliness, May 2017 (repost)

(Update on my mom, 3/20/19:  Apparently, she is up and about, back to traveling and living life.  We'll see where this goes.)             As I have walked this journey of faith, I learned something that I never read in any book on faith:               The deeper you go in your walk with the Lord, the lonelier it can get.               The higher you climb on the mountain of faith, the less people you’ll find climbing with you.               First off, other people can’t go with you into the hardest parts of your journey - when you are struggling the most with your faith, with the hardest trials, with the deepest truths and doubts and fears.   Those struggles are between you and yourself and the Lord.

Spiritual Warfare: Satan's Schemes #9 (bitterness, unforgiveness)

This is the next-to-last of the "Satan's Schemes" posts in the Spiritual Warfare series (and it's a repost from something I wrote elsewhere)... and then I'll  move on. John 10:10 :  "Jesus said, ‘The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy...'" Great article!   And about this article - about parents requesting that the government look into the harmful consequences of transgender medical treatment on children - can I just say ... DUH!!!   Anybody with a brain can realize that medical-treatment of healthy children with hormone-blockers or transgender surgeries may cause permanent and potentially dangerous consequences.  But I guess a lot of people are losing their brains along with their spines!   I think it should be a crime to give children - who haven't lived long enough yet to know what they really want - any kind of transgender medical treatment.  Those kids will pay the price for the rest of their lives for the hasty "intervention" by adults, long after they have changed their minds again and decided that they really don't want to be transgender anymore.
