Christian Testimony: Elizabeth - "How I Came to Jesus (depression and anxiety), Part 1"

Here is Elizabeth's 13-minute-long testimony: "How I Came To Jesus (depression and anxiety), Part 1".

 Of all the ones I've seen so far, hers is probably the most touching, deep, heartfelt one.  My heart breaks for her.  But it's a great testimony about how no matter how hopeless life feels and how lonely you are, God is always there for you.  As she says, no matter what hard trials life throws at you, “God is real.  And He has me…. God cares.”

 She says that she feels like she's lived 30 lives already, and yet she's only 22.  Wow!  So much wisdom, heart, and goodness ... and in someone so young, too!

 And she not only has a beautiful, touching story to share, but she's also got a beautiful, touching voice too!  Beautiful worship songs.

 God bless you and your ministry, Elizabeth!  Thank you for opening your heart and life up to us!

Be Wary Of The Christian Post

(Written 6/15/18)  Occasionally, I check in with the Christian Post to see what's going on in the world that specifically relates to Christians.  And generally, I've never really had any red flags go up about this website ... until now. A recent article by Stoyan Zaimov, with a title that starts "Christian Lesbian rock star ..." goes on to share this woman's story about being assaulted by a male priest when she was young.   However, I don't think the reason for this article is to talk about the abuse she suffered and her courage in speaking up.  I think this is a deliberate attempt to affirm Christian homosexuality.  The very fact that they put "Christian" and "lesbian" in the title makes it sound like it's indeed possible to be a Christian and a practicing homosexual who sees no need to change. My Panic Attack (repost)

I wrote this in the post called “Random Facts about Me.  Just for Fun!” on my other blog.  It’s #64 on the list.  But I think it deserves its own post.  So I am reposting it here, because it fits with the theme of this blog.   If you’ve ever had a panic attack, maybe you can relate.  I hope not, though.  Because panic attacks suck!             64.   I had a small panic attack three days ago (May 30, 2016).  It’s the first one I’ve ever had and I don’t plan on ever having another one.  [I also once had a minor nervous breakdown during my parents’ very messy divorce.  It was so bad that the only way I could start breathing and stop crying was to flee from everything, to jump in the car with my husband and two kids and run away to the middle of nowhere for a little while.]

I  found a lot more names to add to my list of known Calvinists (found in my various  "How to Tell if a Church, Pastor, or Website is Calvinist"  posts).  But instead of adding this huge list to all those posts, I am going to put it here, and I'll just provide a link on those posts to this one.  [FYI: I added a note at the bottom of this post on May 5, 2021.] So here it is, a "master list" of known Calvinists to help you be careful and discerning about who you listen to and where you get your theology from.  There are plenty more Calvinists out there, but these are just the names that I ran across the most.   These are either definite, self-professed Calvinists or "most likely Calvinist," in my estimation.  (I haven't heard of most of them, but it's good to know their theology before I do.)   After finding these names in various places online, I looked up each person to see if they are Calvinist.  If they did not self-identify ...

(Oh, how we love nonsense in our country!) We women are fighting so hard to be like men, to downplay femininity, to be perceived as more masculine, to overtake any "men's realm" we find.   Because it’s “cool” and “progressive” and “strong.” But do we not realize that we are not “leveling the playing field” so much as we are destroying ourselves , the things that make women special? Women can be strong, too.   And they don’t have to be like men to do it.   Trust me, I know.  I've had four children, one by c-section and three by natural, drug-free homebirth (with over 15 hours of labor for each one).  And then I work in the home every day, all day long.  No pay.  No vacation time.  No weekends off.  No bonuses.  No overtime pay. [ Happy New Year!  Have a blessed 2025!] I just found a YouTube channel you might like, called "More Noble Berean."  I've only watched a few videos (so I don't know all her beliefs, which means there may be things I disagree with her about), but this woman - Patti - warns against a lot of the same things I've warned against, such as: Calvinism ,  "The 5 points of Calvinism Reformed Theology" Catholicism   New Age Holy Spirit Fire Encounters Channeling: Is it the Holy Spirit? When You're Mad at God

What do you do when you are mad at God?   If you are a “good Christian,” you might try to deny the way you feel.   You might smile and take it, trying to put up a good, pleasing front to convince God that you are handling it in a “good Christian” way.   After all, you wouldn’t want to offend or displease Him, would you? If you are not a Christian, you might think that God wants nothing to do with you if you are angry at Him.   You might keep your distance from Him because you think that He would never allow an angry person in His presence.   Who do you think you are, anyway, that you should be angry with God?   Doesn’t that deserve lightning bolts? Or maybe you feel like you might hurt God’s feelings?   Or make Him angry with you?   Or cause Him to reject you?
