Why I Respect The Rainbow!

As a Christian, I respect and am thankful for the rainbow!

 Because without it, God would have surely sent another flood to wipe this place clean!

 "And God said, '... I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.  Whenever I bring the clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant ... Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life."  (Genesis 9:12-15)

 I find it so ironic that people turned the rainbow into the symbol of flagrant rebellion against God.  Because flagrant rebellion is what caused the need for the rainbow in the first place.  

 The rainbow is not the symbol of gay pride.  It is God's promise to never again destroy rebellious mankind with a flood.  

 When we see the rainbow, we should be thankful.  Because when God's sees the rainbow, He's reminding Himself of His promise to never again wipe out humanity with a world-wide flood, no matter how much He might want to do it.

 And when we see the rainbow, we should be humbled.  Because we deserve the flood!  And that rainbow - that promise - is what keeps Him from sending one.
(I know people have dubbed June as "Gay Pride Month."  Well, I'm going to call it "Not Ashamed of the Gospel Month.")

Be Wary Of The Christian Post

(Written 6/15/18)  Occasionally, I check in with the Christian Post to see what's going on in the world that specifically relates to Christians.  And generally, I've never really had any red flags go up about this website ... until now. A recent article by Stoyan Zaimov, with a title that starts "Christian Lesbian rock star ..." goes on to share this woman's story about being assaulted by a male priest when she was young.   However, I don't think the reason for this article is to talk about the abuse she suffered and her courage in speaking up.  I think this is a deliberate attempt to affirm Christian homosexuality.  The very fact that they put "Christian" and "lesbian" in the title makes it sound like it's indeed possible to be a Christian and a practicing homosexual who sees no need to change. It's so sad to hear about all the celebrities who have recently committed suicide (or about anyone who has committed suicide, for that matter).  My heart breaks for them, for the pain they went through, and for the ones who love them, for the pain they are now going through.  It is truly a tragedy. Calvinist pastor pulls back the curtain on Easter morning, ruining childhoods everywhere

A neighbor just sent this link to me , a video clip (just a minute long) from a woman sharing how she is just done with everything, how she's on autopilot and just wants Jesus to come back again. I absolutely get everything she said and have felt the same way for several years now. Can anyone else relate? Here's a transcript of what she said (I think she voiced what a lot of us have been feeling, like we've been treading water, just trying to get by until the end):  "Does anybody else just ... This is the next-to-last of the "Satan's Schemes" posts in the Spiritual Warfare series (and it's a repost from something I wrote elsewhere)... and then I'll  move on. John 10:10 :  "Jesus said, ‘The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy...'" Is Yoga Ok For Christians? (Here's a hint: It's not!)

There's this article out right now about people doing yoga at a church.  And this, of course, raises the question about if it's ok for Christians to do yoga. I have thought about this issue before and wrote a post on it.  And I'm going to repost it here at the end. [Hear me out.  This is important.  Even if you don't do yoga, it's worth learning about it so you can be discerning.  This is seeping into the church now, and it affects our Christian family.  Do you know what you believe about it and why? Is God Drawing Lines in the Sand?

(reposted again, from another blog of mine) It’s amazing and disturbing how brazen our society is in attacking everything about God and everything He created:   marriage, monogamy, sex, family, sexuality, the scientific reality of gender, morality, modesty, the value of a person, the right to life, the existence of "right and wrong," the Bible, Jesus, and Absolute Truth.   Not to mention God Himself, His very existence.   We are destroying everything associated with Him (except nature – we worship that), and then we call ourselves "progressive."
