Prove God's Existence?
So the president of the Philippines says that if anyone can prove that God exists with a photograph then he will resign. (Click here to read that article.)
Okay, then ... I would challenge him to prove that God doesn't exist. Prove that there is no supernatural activity. Prove that miracles don't happen. Prove that there is nothing out there but what we can see.
And prove it with a photo or video.
If he can explore every inch of this universe and take pictures showing that there is nothing else out there ... if he can travel back in time and get video evidence that this universe started without God ... if he can prove that there is no spiritual dimension ... if he can come back from the dead and prove that there is nothing after this life ... then maybe I'll consider the possibility that there is no God.
"Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked." (Galatians 6:7) If some national tragedy happens in the Philippines in the near future, don't be surprised. I pray that's not the case because it was the leader who said it, not the people. But God will not be mocked.
Lord, spare the people of the Philippines and open the eyes of the president to Your existence. May his brazen comments actually be used to lead people closer to You.
"The wrath of God is being revealed against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." (Romans 1:18-20)
The risks of not believing in God are far, far worse than the risks of believing in God.
Maybe that man should be less worried about people proving God's existence and more worried about what would happen if God chose to prove His existence!
Besides, no person needs to prove the existence of God. God has already done a great job of proving His own existence through His creation. And if He chooses to, He can show Himself even more by shaking this world and bringing us to our knees or by withdrawing from us to show us what life is like without Him. And He will make Himself even clearer in the end when we all stand before Him and give an account for what we believed and why.
Everyone has all the proof they need to know that God is real!
And we will all be held accountable for it!
